I am wondering about something. I have 2 newer matched Walmart batteries and use one for camping stuff and one for starting & radio. If one battery is topped up and the other is at say 75%, does the fully charged prevent the other one from getting charged? I wouldn't have thought so but I was seeing low voltages on one of both of the batteries while on an extended camping trip (driving a few hours at least every day). I was thinking that whatever feedback the alternator gets might sees a full charge from the one charged up one? I use a manual battery connect/disconnect switch if that is relevant. Also wondering if I see 12.6 volts, does that mean the battery is fully charged and in good shape or do I have to load test it to know for sure? Thanks, Dave |
