Subject: Any 1.9 wasserleaker engines available in the North East?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi guys,   I'm helping a fellow Rochestarian out with an 84 Westy - yes it is monkey poo yellow.  Seems like the valve spring retainer cup split in half allowing one valve to really bang up against the piston.  The valve broke off and got jammed into the head but also punctured a hole into the piston.  SO assuming that there may be some piston chips in the engine block, I think this engine needs a full rebuilt and splitting the case to clean any stray metal. I had a set of heads ready to replace but now with the busted piston it is moot.    I am now looking for a good running or rebuildable 1.9 Ltr.  WasserLeaker engine somewhere in the North East with some life left.  If anyone has an engine collecting dust or soon snow somewhere within a days drive of Rochester, please let me know.   Joel Cort Rochester NY joel_cort@yahoo.com
