I subscribed here August 24. Two Months. I had lots to learn.. . . .

I want to thank and acknowledge all the members of this list that helped get - 82 diesel na camper- for legal for Maryland Registration Tags today. I've learned more from you all on the list than I have from the Bentley manual that came with the Yellow Sub.

How can a Vanagon owner *Get UpTo Speed* without such a group of case-hardened owner-mechanics on-hand? No question too small or novice. No topic too discussed already to drag it up in fine detail again .

You helped me get SEARS to take back 5 new passenger tires and install 5 proper Hankooks. I knew what to demand from you. Ive had the special slanted oil pan successfully tig welded. I've cleaned most of my lighting and fuse block connections. On my way to a Good Ground. My turn signals and lighter socket work. Changed rear break drums and cylinders.

Ive learned the evolution of VW diesel na to TPI and what is required for an engine transplant. I am about to dump the sealed beam headlights. I know the coating for the pop-up, treatment for remaining rust and the electronics Yellow Sub has ahead. No radio yet, but all in good time.

You all shared this knowledge and more in just 2 months.

My biggest recognition goes to Ralph. I had a busted side door window and the Maryland Safety Inspector needed it fixed. Ralph had an extra side door from Velma's past. He pulled the window and Paid It Forward to me. Yesterday I installed it with silicone spray and pull cord from a link given here. Snapped in like new.

Now I just have to get the rest of the Sub to look as good as the window that Ralph gave me.
