Subject: Power window issues / Relay Clicking Sounds
Content-Type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII
Hello everyone,
Been a really long time since I posted anything here. I guess because my 88 auto has been doing ok till recently.
Where do I begin....
About 5 months ago my drivers side power window motor went so I tracked a used one down and it was installed and worked great till about 2 months ago. All of a sudden the power went. I had a friend who is a mechanic look at it, he ran an power line to the switch from the fuse box. It worked great for 1 month and then all of sudden the window motor started to go very slowly. Then it would work intermittently.
He took the motor out and we connected it directly to the switch, it ran perfectly. But when he had it connected to the regulator it would spark and short out the fuse.
Question #1 - Why would this occur all of a sudden to a good working motor, shorting does not make sense to me?
Question #2 - We put the passenger motor on the drivers side and it worked fine for 3 months during the summer then all of sudden it started to go slow, then not at all. No click sound from the switch. Nothing.
I checked all the fuses and they are all good.
I have a relay that I think was #25 on it, which was clicking like crazy. I pulled it out and put it back and seems to have stopped clicking. Here's an audio clip of the relay sound.

What is going on? Any ideas?
Thanks,

PS. I wrapped the motors in electrical tape to prevent water from getting in them.
