Ya, this topic occupies so much storage in our archives that there is probably not anything that hasn't been expressed before. So many of us have converted to different engines that the benefits of the larger wheels/tires becomes an almost necessity in order to improve handling, stability, safety, and more effective power transfer. It has remarkably elevated the capability of my van. There is a perspective out there that doing all this wears the van out faster, and in more ways than stock. My experience and subsequent perspective currently, is that the van does very difficult things with much greater ease BECAUSE of the modifications.

I still get 17-18MPG with a Subaru-6 (H6 3.0, not SVX) and a much broader range of capability on and off-road, not the least of which is the 235/70-16 BFG's. Great clearance improvement and NO power loss in any condition.
