You guys! "Don't do that"?? If you've ever lived in the Rockies where it actually gets cold you would know that running outside to start the vehicle, then rushing back indoors before you fingers and ears freeze off...giving the Rig a chance to heat up a little while you finish your coffee and pack your lunch...that is S.O.P for many people. One of the nice things that makes a good snowcountry vehicle is it being one you can start cold and leave running for a time without sitting in it, tending the throttle, etc. My Digifant inline VW does a pretty good job of 'staying lit', but where I live it seldom gets really cold. I'd suggest checking the Idle Air Control valve, Temp II sensor, run some injector cleaner and gas treatment through. Go back over your throttle linkage and make sure it is clean...perhaps a good dousing with WD-40 and then some silicone lube after the WD dries off. Check your intake hoses and vacuum lines. Do it on a warm day....Of course, you'll rarely have a problem with your vehicles till it is -30f and the middle of the night....
