I have not worked on the wasserbus engine but I suspect "NO" to the oil leak. The rear main seal is on the other side of the flywheel. A worn pilot bearing will cause the input shaft bearing to wear out and the excessive play will cause the transmission front seal to fail. Basically, the clutch friction disk, transmission input shaft and throw-out bearing are suspended between the pilot bearing and input shaft bearing.
