RE: Inverter to run/charge laptop The easiest and most energy efficient solution is to get a 12v adapter for the laptop. Universal adapter are available on eBay for around $20. But if you have other items that you can't get a 12v adapter for I've found a 400 watt inverter to be more than I've ever needed. So one of the smaller inverters should do the job.
