Mine did that, bucking like I was being rear-ended.  Tried everything, even
removing the engine harness and testing every wire.  In the end I just
noodled it out, thinking about random connections that come and go.   I
opened the "brain" connector and sprayed a drying agent in the multi wire
connection, then dried it all out.
 That stoped the hesitating/bucking and it ran fine from then on.
ed- remembering moisture in connections sucks big time
