Kevin, Sorry to hear you are giving up on Vanagons-but beware, I have too, 3 or 4 times, but I always come back! Your first gauge console, the one that wraps around the auto shifter, is pretty slick. Years ago in a junk yard I came across a Mark III conversion Vanagon-a somewhat rare beast i imagine. I took a few items off ot it, one being the drink tray that fit around the auto shifter, very much like your design. I installed it in my own Vanagon, which I later sold (see first line again) but before I did I completely disassembled it and traced each piece onto some thin plywood, so I would have a template to make one in the future. I currently have an '85 Weekender automatic (see first line again) and I had forgotten about the template until I saw your gauge console. Gonna have to go out and dig around the garage this afternoon!!! Jeff Jeff Stewart ----- Original Message ----- > Hello All: > Well.... it's been quite awhile since I posted to the list.
