The last reply gave me an idea. Retract the piston all the way. Insert a 12" piece of 2X4, it fits snuggly. Make two strips of metal that grab the ears of the sleeve and screw them onto the narrow sides of the 2X4. The lag bolts should help pull in the strips of metal and hold the sleeve. Turn the crank so the 2X4 is pushed out, pulling the cylinder with it. I'll let you know how it went. Ken

If one could make a tool to safely "grab" the cylinder and there was enough play between the case rods and cylinder.....

Could one grab the cylinder with the tool and apply a judicious rap to tool to turn cylinder a little thus breaking the bond between cylinder and case?
