Having run many XR700 systems on all of my original point-style VWs since 1971 - before Crane bought what was then Allison in Duarte, CA (I grew up near the plant), they've always said and I have always continued to run my spark plug gap(s) at .028".

Hand one of these installed on a 73 Toyota PU, where the standard gap was .035".

Getting ready to install one on my 914 this winter. Best ignition system IMHO. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing Since March 1999 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/people/Jim-Thompson/100000710343835 *********************************** On Mon, Nov 14, 2011 at 1:15 PM, courtney hook <courtneyhook@shaw.ca> wrote: > Does anyone who is running one of these know what sparkplug gap to use?
