hi .. how about what does ATC stand for ?

I have called them 'tooth' fuses, because they look like a tooth with two roots.

I'lll say this about them.. the 'good kind' have metal test points on them. there are some styles that do not. ----- Original Message ----- From: Loren Busch To: Scott Daniel - Turbovans Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Tuesday, November 08, 2011 9:08 PM Subject: Re: Re: Harbor Freight Circuit Tester was D15 connector revealed

hi Loren, I see no reason to have both.. for me, I sure hope I'm not working on any car with those smaller ATC fuses.

so far I've found out............ it takes a very tiny phillips screw driver to get the battery cover off.. it takes a weird 12 battery ( included ) ..it's like a short AAA batt. and 3... it's limited to a 10 second test at a time. the info with it says 'resolution' is 0.1 amp .. so I suppose it can read that low, which could be useful. not too big an investment in any case. I agree, I can't think of any reason to have both. I know that I have something someplace (just can't remember what it is) that uses the Mini spade fuses but I doubt that I'd ever need that instrument for whatever it is :) I'll be exchanging it tomorrow BTW, I looked up the 'official' names of the types of fuses. The ones we use in the later Vanagons (and a whole bunch of other vehicles and 'stuff') are caller ATC/ATO and little ones just called 'Mini'. Now a new question, what's the difference between an ATC fuse vs. an ATO fuse?
