Interesting Ken. Or should I say "Nek"   ;)

I have little working knowledge of the WBX. Errantly had the image of old
air cooled barrels in my mind.

If there's room, another crazy thought:

Threaded rod through wood, bend at 90* each side, drill hole in each chunk
of steel, nut washer. All this would put the chunks of steel up against the
sleeve ears. Then maybe put 1 or 2  large hose clamps around the chunks of
steel to keep them against the sleeve? If you wanted to get fancy, maybe
one could turn the nuts little by little to pull cylinder?

Likely not enough room to use this but just a  thought off the top of my
