I got the impression, probably at that site a couple of years ago.. that the Nissan V-6 engine is pretty tall top-to-bottom .. and for sure a clearance issue on the oil pan. I don't know if they run shortened oil pans.

Very very durable engine though, good power, smooth, etc.

I helped a friend get a 95 Nissan Quest van with a version of that engine.. it cruised so easily at 80 mph on a trip from Taos NM to Ashland, OR, all on two lane rodes.. so nicely that I wanted to graft the whole nose of that Quest van onto the front of a Vanagon. Nissan engines are usually incredible durable .. on the level of Honda or Mercedes ...........like super good tough engines. ----- Original Message ----- From: "neil n" <musomuso@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2011 9:01 PM Subject: Re: Anyone here with a Nissan Maxima Vanagon?
