Thanks everyone for your help. I had the crack welded by Futamo in Gerrero Negro, but it did not work. I have managed to reduce it to almost nothing by using the two part JB weld. We are in La Paz and going to Geraldo's VW this morning to see what he can do. We have also lost the male spade connector from the solenoid. The connector actually fell out of the solenoid housing and is very difficult to access. This is an SVX conversion and the starter is right up against the fuel tank, so hoping this Geraldo's VW has a lift. Futamo's had several lifts, but very few tools and even less talent.......... Beautiful beaches and friendly people down here.......warm days cool nights. Aaaaaah......now to the mechanic. Gracias! Miguel
