Good to know.  I cheaped out when I had those overflow crosspipe thingies replaced a couple years ago and decided NOT to add the expense of replacing the level sensor.  Wavered on that a bit...time will tell if a good decision or not.  But I do ALWAYS keep my Vanagon garaged with a full tank of gas to minimize rusting on the interior from condensation on a half-full tank; have done that for 22 years of ownership.  And it makes it fun to start out on the next roadtrip without having to fill up first and delay the departure.
