Unless you are very attached to diesel, you can get better yet mpg and lower cost overall, by considering a Subaru H6 3.0 (minimum 16mpg while pulling a trailer), and the engine cost/installation is less $$$ as well. The "power" for the least powerful (2001-2004 engines) is 212HP, 210Lb/ft.
