Mine idles around 15" goes up to about 22" during de-acceleration, but I'm getting my vacuum from the manifold, but shouldn't make any difference. If you run a line all the way up to the dash for a permanent gauge like my VDO unit, I was told to use very small plastic hose(like air shock plastic line size. The thinking that bigger piping will suck the engine dry of needed vacuum. YMMV DM&FS
