Steve -

I've gotta agree with Dennis on this one. Digijet (83.5-85) and the earlier L-Jet (80-83.5 Calif) 1 wire O2 systems are disabled at Startup. In otherwords, they start with the ECU in "Open Loop" Mode for the first 2 or 3 minutes to maximize fuel delivery performance during warm-up. If it started in "Closed Loop" Mode, it would would run too lean, thus hard to stay running. When you turn the ignition off and then restart the ECU always re-sets itself for "Open Loop" mode, even with the engine already warm, but for perhaps a shorter duration because of the inter-action with the Temp Sensor reading going to the ECU. At least that's been my understanding and experience with these.

Now with Digifant such as your 91, this may be different, but my experience is with earlier FI ECUs.
