Great web page Edward. IIRC, I had read your page noting the clever use of the DB25 connector; a part that's still fairly easy to find I imagine.

In my wildest dreams, as I'm sure others have thought, I would take the time to make a PCB of the ribbon. Maybe something like that, along with warning light LED's, could fit in the middle portion of the cluster? In terms of the PCB board itself, if it's feasible, when done, the image of the traces could be easily posted online for others to use. Maybe this has been done already?
