this is good stuff, and if we plan on keeping our vans for any time we all come up against these problems we will have to deal with. I  appreciate seeing other's solutions, no matter how the maker's feel about the fix. And I believe all of us are capable of making good repairs. It all comes down to feeling free to do it. There is no substitute for trying things, experimenting, failing, succeeding.
