But diversion of farm land from food crops or diversion of land that should be n conservation to fuel farming is required. Until we get off the use of liquid fuel for transportation, we're damned if we do and damned if we do something else. No free lunch.

Of course, there is a lot of biomass that ends up in landfills. Some way to harvest that for biodiesel or other fuel would be great.
