What brand is/was your "new" slave cylinder? Failing that, any manufacturer ID marks on it?

This has been talked about here and elsewhere, but maybe your "new" slave cylinder had a poor quality seal(s)?

From what I've read and experienced, it's possible that the rubber on *some* (few? Limited to certain "runs"?) new or rebuilt parts is of poor quality. OTOH, and not suggesting you did this, but if one bled the clutch hydraulics using the clutch pedal, and the fluid was really old and dirty (image of fluid I got from my clutch line: http://tinyurl.com/cwhuurs ), could this harm the master or slave cyl. ? Maybe you initially used your Motive power bleeder to bleed the "new" part.

Then again, factory assembly could be an issue. One of my rebuilt front brake calipers leaked at join within 2 days.

Thanks,

Neil with fairly new clutch master cylinder, unknown spare slave cyl., and waiting with bated breath for *old* still OK slave cyl. to fail. ;)
