My personal van (unlifted) has an aftermarket air dam.....I made it from Home Depot garden edging...that plastic crap that fancy landscaped houses use to border the Beauty Bark around their trees, etc etc. It extends below my bumper and if I hit a rock or stump with it...it just bends....If it tears off, so what? Does it help with fuel economy? Probably a little...worth the $4 or 5 bucks it cost me and it looks almost factory...
