Alistair Is the problem possibly the grid itself? Mine (in my '85 2wd) simply doesn't conduct electricity very far. As in: ohmeter probes touched to the grid a few mm apart show conductivity, but any farther apart than that and no current passes. Since you said "no power AT the grid" it sounds like a different problem though, but if you meant "no power ACROSS the grid" maybe we have the same problem.
