Also yesterday at the boneyard I found a drivers side mirror that had the longer part horizontal rather than vertical. Wow, I thought, never seen a mirror like that before! I have to have it! So, I took it off the van and studied it a little closer. Hmmmmm, the drain holes are on the side? Then it hit me, this was simply a passengers side mirror installed on the drivers side!! This may be common knowledge, but I swear in 10 years of Vanagon ownership I'd never seen the mirrors switched like this before!
