Subject: Horn Ring
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

A while back I had horn issues. The horn would, of it's own accord, just start blowing - or so it seemed. Turned out to be a worn out horn ring. I bought from a list vendor a new, genuine, official horn ring, and when I installed it, I still had horn blowing issues. No matter what I did, I could not get the steering wheel to seat properly with the new horn ring in place. After a frustrating period of time, I discover the new, genuine, official horn ring was different from the worn out one I took off. Fortunately, I had saved the old ring, and was able to swap the metal parts from the new to the old. That worked. But it was a giant PITA until I found the source of the problem. There is a new shoulder on the new horn ring that is not on the old one, and this will not allow the steering wheel to seat properly.

I have a comparison picture of the two rings and am wondering if someone could host this picture on their web site.

Just let me know,

Thanks

John
