I left mine uncovered in all weathers for about sixteen years and
never had a problem with it.  The drip tube never gave me any water,
and the times I had the firebox open there were no signs of any water
ever having been in there.   The fridge continued to run at highway
speeds in torrential downpours (basically it ran continuously for
those sixteen years).  Have you been having a problem?
