Well Bob, they all work on a single key. At the same time they will also all work with copies of that single key.

The main reason I rekeyed them alike is because I am very bad with remembering which key works with what. Having 27 vehicles at the time became a real nightmare. Even worse than that, I misplace keys all the time. Even my house has a keysafe in case I lock myself out.

I know nobody asked but allow me to answer a possible question. I change out all the locks when I sold most of my Vanagon collection. Only the few remaining in my possession still works on that special key. I kept all the rekeyed handles and locks in case I acquire more Vanagons in the future. In fact, I had Steve rekey some spare lock cylinders for back-ups. The downside of keying that many locks is you eventually run out of the same wafers. Steve has plenty of spares.
