Hello all, I've had this issue since last winter, so it really isn't a major issue, perhaps more of an annoyance.... Vehicle in question: 1991 GL with a 2.2 Subaru engine and Manual Transmission When temperature is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, the tachometer cuts out when driving. By "cut out", I mean the tach needle drops and stays dropped. Oddities: When I hit a bump in the road, the tachometer will roar back to life or die, depending on what it's doing at the time (working tach + bump = non-working or non-working + bump = working). Also, sometimes, when the tachometer is not working and I tap the top of the cluster cover, the tachometer will start to work. And, When I drive it later in the day when the temperature has warmed up, it works fine. I've pulled the cluster and looked for anything out of place, nothing really obvious. I'm guessing I need a new tach, yes...? Or I could move even warmer climate... Thoughts and input are welcome.
