Dear Potential BCAA guy
you refer to your research as BCAA Insurance yet your question seems to be
about BCAA ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE ..
if this is the case then there is lots to say about the situation
1. Get the RV Package YES .. first and foremost it will describe the size
of truck they need to send to fetch you and i can assure you after many tow
jobs in usa and canada that you require the larger truck (hopefully with a
flat bed jerrdan hoist )
2. Get the RV Package YES for the extra hauling ... It may seem like lots
of km to have 160 which is essentially 95 miles ... Baww NOT ENOUGH ..
i have broken down no less than 4 times in the USA and each time the two
hundred mile Limit the RV Package offered got me to an actual town with an
actual active Vanagon repair place as opposed to just the next workshop
along the way ... Look at it this way on regular coverage you will get at
most 1 hour further toward your goal that day .. with RV Package you get
nearly 3 hours and often 4 hours closer .. (think portland to medford ....
or courtaney to victoria ... or the dallas to boise)
The additional tow stuff pays for itself in one tow as the rate after the
maximum is exceeded is often $$ per mile rather than cents per mile
To be frank i have had the RV package since long before the Vanagon simply
for the milage reason after many years with basic BCAA coverage
(broken down in canal flats and got towed into radium plus plus on a
holiday weekend and the tow guy stayed with me until i was at a shop that i
was happy with the shop ... as the first two were under a bridge in a dark
hole using two sticks rubbed together for illumination .. happy shop was 3
bay esso with mechanics on until 8 PM on a holiday weekend
so my point is the tow ops treat you differently when you have the RV +
coverage ...
spend the $ now and drive with confidence
regards
