Wes -
Did a bit of research in my reference library of VDO stuff back into
the 70s. My July 86 and May 87 VDO Catalogs are the best when
comparing senders and their specs. It is true the all VDO Pressure
Senders with 10mm Threads (1mm Pitch) are of the 1K style, which is
tapered. They do (or did) make a 12mm x 1.5 or 14mm x 1.5 Pressure
Sender, but were not tapered. Must be a good reason why. Probably
for better sealing without the washer. Problem with that is
over-torquing and cracking the metal it's being screwed into, but I've
used the 10mm 1K style for decades without a problem (yet). Just
remember not to use sealing tape on the threads or it won't properly
ground.
I further verified it in my 1997 VDO Catalog which is harder to comb
through to find this info. I wish they would keep it simple :(
