You fool :) you should have written the wire colours on the side of the tank with a sharpie. Took me a few times of confusion before I figured out to do that :)
on my '82 vintage tank, it goes as follows: -black to the bottom, outboard stud -white to the bottom stud -yellow to the middle stud - and a double green at the top stud The drain cap - not so sure about replacement. I think some say a standard garden hose thread works, others have noted that the rear wiper reservoir cap might fit (really unsure about that one, haven't tried it) good luck alistair
