I just bought a wireless LaCrosse WS-9075 G3 with the waterproof temp. probe TX-3UP G1, all for $50.00.

The display will be mounted on the closet cabinet of my Westy, the receiver/transmitter mounted inside the closet, and the wire probe attached to that, will be run through the bottom of the closet, outside and snugged up under the van so it's away from heat sources and direct sunlight. If I'm parked on asphalt, it may not register accurate ambient on hot, sunny days, but that's not when I need or want the information anyway.

That wire probe is 10' long so it allows the sensor on the end of that to be put almost anywhere that would be ideal for most accurate information.

The "kit" is comprised of 3 pieces, the inside-closet mounted transmitter with the wire probe, the receiver that I'll also mount inside the closer (must be mounted at least 3' to 5' feet away, then the display unit.

I got mine from GreatBigOutlet.com here: http://www.greatbigoutlet.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=2

I don't see the 9075 displayed at that site. I'd suggest calling them to see if they have any more. If not, I bet they have something similar.

I wasn't going to go wireless but when I found out that there was a model that has a wire probe that goes outside, and the base receiver/transmitter is INSIDE, then I could see that it would work accurately. I was afraid that a probe just mounted outside that had to transmit wirelessly through the van body and cabinets, wouldn't work well, which isn't the case with these units with wired-probes.

Bob
