  I have one of the cheapo's too.  about $10 with an LCD readout,
switchable from inside to outside or time of day.  It sticks on my dash
just above the heater controls with velcro and the outside temp probe
(wired) I ran under the pod and behind the carpet on the firewall, then out
at the washerfluid res.  the probe lives down there on the frame.  Seems
pretty accurate and it has a backlight on a button.   It is handy when
driving in the Northwest to know whether you are seeing wet road or black
Ice.  Knowing the outside temp is handy and since I POS analog stock clock
only works when it is warm, I also have a time display on the dash, should
my wrist be covered or my cell phone be lost or my radio display time
wrong, or or...
