I worked at a Honda dealership for several years and have been using their phosphate-free coolant that they sell currently. When I checked it against the VW bottle the first eight or so ingredients were the same and in the same order. I've used it for at least 7 years and almost 100,000 miles with no issues.

It appears that it's no longer possible to buy phosphate-free coolant, at least in Canada. VW no longer carries it. They say that their "aluminum core compatible" coolant is a suitable replacement. My mechanic said something similar. What do folks here think? Joy
