To me, the best source of nuts and bolts for a Vanagon is a Vanagon(or other German car) carcass at a U Pullit. I wouldn't trash a decent one, but the rusto matic Syncro I cut up yielded dozens, maybe hundreds of fasteners, and I semi organized them into those little red AKro MIlls bins. Most of those nuts and bolts at the FLAPS and even HArdware stores these days are made in China and I'd rather have the stuff made in Old Country.
