Saab has lost its struggle for survival. Like Volkswagen in its classic days, Saab was once known for original thinking and quirky designs that bucked trends, and had its own devoted enthusiast base. Many hoped for a resurgence of the brand when GM (who bought Saab in 1989 and ran it into the ground) sold it last year, but unfortunately the new owners were undercapitalized. It's always sad to see a part of automotive history die. |
