I think you're right, yesterday when getting gas on older (60's) gentleman looked over at me and my Vanagon and said "Nothing like a little flower power". When I was done I told my wife & daughter I was a bit surprised, I never figured Vanagons to be considered "hippie vans" as by this time they had heat, air conditioning, power windows/locks, etc. When I had my last Bay Westy, little kids used to see it scream "It's Fillmore" (from Cars). Never could figure out how a Bay looked like a Splitty to them, but it did. (BTW, that van was yellow, and I sold it right after "Little Miss Sunshine" came out, and for a TON of cash, I always figured that movie helped boost the value!)
