hi.
besides the auto trans flexplate, you need the shorter lower engine mounting
studs too.
cabbage wise...you can get a lot of good miles out of a decent used 2.1
wbxr.
Actually .....one could buy a good used engine every 4 or 5 years..
and drive until ....years and years. If gas holds out at a reasonable price
and availability.
if miles are high on a 2.1 wbxr engine ..
run an oil pressure guage ..
that's what eventually wears out on them ..the bearings and oil clearance
get very tired/old/loose..
if you just keep driving it forever..eventually it'll blow a rod ..
if you keep the right oil in it and run it only with decent oil pressure
..they'll go a long way.
they are always valuable as a core engine too. Rebuilders want them.

I'd be happy to find a decent running 2.1 in California, Nevada or
Arizona from someone who's doing a Zetec or Subie conversion,
preferably with an auto flexplate, but I'm flexible.
Zetec's not legal for install in California and I don't have enough
cabbage for that or a Subie anyway :(
Oh well.......
