Just install a set of Power mirrors but just do not use the power since your 84 more then likely does not have it. I put a set of them on my 85 Westy since the Zetec conversion the stock mirrors could NEVER stay where they belong. Fixed the mirror problem by just installing the power mirrors and adjusted the glass then called it a day. Pushing 80 MPH or so in a Vanagon the old style mirrors never had a chance!! C-ya Jonce
