Subject: 85 GL dead at end of driveway - can we tow it in reverse?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi All,

I've been having issues with the ignition switch in my 85 GL (non-Westy) with auto trans and after I finally got it started this morning to take the kids to school, I got down to the end of the driveway (about 1/4 mile long overall) and it died. Now I cannot get it started. Because our driveway has gates, there is no way to get around the van for anyone else to get in or out of the driveway. And thus, also, no way to jump start it again.

IF I put it in neutral, can we tow it up the driveway with our truck (it will be towing in reverse)? Or will that damage that something?
