How about using an old school steel pie pan? (Hopefully still available at Walmart or Target).  With perforations....a few extra to simulate the VW emblem.  Yeah....avoid coated cans...no testing has been done to evaluate out-gassing when they are brought up to red-hot temps like on the top of a Westy stove.  Who knows what kind of gases are going to permeate your breakfast?  (And I don't even have a Westy stove....mine is a hardtop Vanagon with outdoor-use Coleman liquid stove; which I use to make french toast!)

in case anyone doesn't know.. galvanized metal.. when heated enough emits a deadly poison.

when welding on galvanized metal....it's very important to not breath the fumes. This is also why galvanized stove pipe is never used indoors.
