Havasu isn't that small of a town any more...I bet there is a Vanagon fixer there...You don't have to tow to Las Vegas or San Diego....Needles is pretty sizable now, too, as is Bullhead City/Laughlin....This ain't the Wild West any more. 100 miles should get you somewhere from almost everywhere one drives a Vanagon... I paid a bit for towing insurance with my Progressive policy...less than AAA...uses most of the same towing services. So far, knock wood, I have been always able to fix my own vehicles on the road without resorting to a tow.
