Hi volks,
One plus for RV coverage is that if you are towing a trailer when you break down, they will tow that too. Standard and premium coverage does not extend to a towed load.
That might not be important to most people but it is for me.

The drivers are knowledgeable about reputable repair shops (though not necessarily Vanagon specialist shops). The trip interruption insurance works also, and ask me how I know. But you need at least the "Plus" version to get the trip interruption coverage. I would not think so much of AAA if I only drove late model Toyotas or Hondas. But in addition to those I drive a 20 year old Vanagon. The question is not whether it will fail at some point, but when and where. If I am far from home when that happens, I need a plan. AAA is part of that plan, even if I can do some repairs myself while on the road. BTW, mine is 10 years younger than your.
