I have a wireless one with the remote inside my refrigerator, the readout/inside temp is mounted in back with velcro. I can't think of anyplace outside that I'd put the remote. It needs a new AA battery every 6 months & I'd think you have to keep it out of the muck, weather & direct sunlight to be worth anything. A wired probe makes much more sense.
