You know I fully agree, and comparing a very early air cooled to something GoWesty has gold plated is funny. But it does look pretty clean (carpet, original canvas fair/good for age) aside from that rip in the seat. Of course being an automatic aircooled Westy if driven out of the DC metro area into hills, or at beltway speeds it is probably on its 3rd engine at those miles. I've bought the exact same van (miles, etc) but without the seat rip before for $1000, but that was 7-8 years ago, so is it worth $3500, no but if truely clean, probably worth something...
