You're right, except for the funny math that ignores the real cost of the product. If you drive in America, you need to include the cost you pay in Federal taxes for our military presence around the world to keep that oil flowing. European gas is a relative bargain and not "socialized" like ours, where even people who don't drive have to pay for it to keep the cost seemingly low for the ones who do.
