Does it shift easier if you pump the clutch a few times first? It'll do what you describe if
there's still air in the lines. I've found that it can be hard to get the air out sometimes. You
could also look below the slave cylinder and make sure it's moving the clutch actuator arm when
a friend steps on the clutch. Should move about an inch, I think. Good luck...
